3 things meme

Alright.  A post!  So the thing that's been going around:

3 Things I've Done that I Bet No One on My Friends List Has:
- Traveled to Bosnia by accident
- Driven to Wisconsin solely to buy shoes (no pun intended)
- Ridden on a Hungarian tank

See, the key problem is that a lot of the stuff I usually use for these things I have actually done with people on my friends list or know for fact that others have done.  Including:
- Boned my own corset and worn it
- Made a feature length movie-musical about pirates in my backyard.
- Taken a Russian overnight train filled with army recruits.
- Published poetry and/or articles
- Toured a Nazi submarine
- Taken the waters at Bath multiple times

And [info]shaynehunter's addition: 3 Things I've Never Done that I Bet A Lot of Friends List People Have:
- Watched an episode of Star Trek in any of its incarnations including films
- Listened to Radiohead
- Visited San Francisco or Seattle

"Literary dorkitude"

I couldn't come up with a better title, myself (thanks to [info]selecasharp for both the title and the meme!).  This is one of those reading memes that I compulsively do.

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see.

Here are the instructions:
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.

Interview meme

Yes! A post! Don't be too shocked now.

Here's the deal:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.

Here are my answers to the questions [info]zpenguin  left me :-)

Survey for the bored

It's making the rounds (ie [info]shaynehunter and [info]selecasharp have done it AND NOW SO MUST I!!!).  Should rightly be called SURVEY FOR THOSE PROCRASTINATING OTHER, MORE IMPORTANT THINGS, though, as that is clearly what I am doing.  And now ....

Ok.  That was lame.  You can note survey lameness by number of times was forced to write in ALL CAPS to express frustration as well as number of times was forced to resort to disparaging the survey writing talents of the survey writers.  Still.  I am now inspired to actually get work done.

In which I actually post (and there is evidence that I read things)

I present to you a meme taken from [info]selecasharp
Premise: "These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish/haven't finished, and strike through what you couldn't stand. The numbers after each one are the number of LT users who used the tag of that book."
I also went ahead and underlined things that I physically own and have on my TO READ shelf (slowly but surely I am making progress there!).  I have even cut it for more awesomeness!!  Enjoy!
Books! )

A king of infinite space

Seeing as how all the people I know who would enjoy this are on livejournal, I will post once more. So, yes, enjoy. If you are reading this, you are likely one of the people I am targeting it towards, so you might as well click. No avoiding your destiny...

Little Miyazaki glowy things!

There!

There, now my journal is good and black so it looks like Victorian mourning.
Henry VIII's wives

In which I try again

Okay. It has been over a month since I tried this live journal stupidness the first time. And tonight I have tried it again. And you know? I still hate it. But at least my journal isn't pink anymore. Yess. I guess that is a plus. Still. Livejournal is lame. And difficult to use!! It reminds me of the old Geocities interface. Maybe it was designed by geocities minions? Hmmm.

Anyway, the most amusing thing about this whole endeavor is the little emoticons (see below this post). Even the 'gloomy' one bounces up and down in cheerful fashion, despite its little frown. Awww.

Time to leave the livejournal universe of EVIL and venture back to the real world. Away!

Life, why you mock me?

And so I have a livejournal now. How odd. I intensely dislike the interface I have to work with. I guess I will always be a blogger at heart. This seems so complex for no good reason.

The thing about livejournal is the cliquishness. It's like 7th grade all over again, except in the form of an online community, and it has infiltrated even my group of friends. I must confess, though, even I am curious to see the "Secret Posts" that have so long been hidden. And thus livejournal's magical lure. And thus why I, follower that I am, have my own livejournal now.
